Duracell Disposable Battery Powers Digital Cameras

By Staff -- TWICE, 12/8/2003

With digital cameras fast becoming smaller in size, Duracell has positioned its CP1 lithium primary prismatic battery to be compatible with the Nikon Coolpix 3700 and the Samsung Digimax U-CA 3 hardware — the first digital cameras powered by the disposable prismatics, said Duracell. Both digital cameras offer advanced digital imaging functions as well as sleek designs that are enabled by the CP1 battery's thin, rectangular shape.

The two cameras were scheduled for late November availability, while the CP1 will be arriving at retail outlets throughout the next quarter. The Duracell CP1 is part of a new prismatic battery lineup that delivers primary power in a smaller, flatter form, designed to serve today's digital consumer electronics devices. Device manufacturers can use the new power source as a lower cost alternative to secondary batteries.

The battery requires no charger or recharging. The design also enables them to include both a primary and rechargeable source of power in devices, offering more value and convenience for consumers.
