Fidelity, Sungale Add New Frames

By Staff -- TWICE, 6/2/2008

Frame makers Fidelity and Sungale added new products to their lineups earlier this month.

Fidelity said it would ship a unit with a built-in 80GB hard drive to dealers in July.

The Digital Photo Vault sports an 8-inch screen with a built-in motion sensor that can turn the frame on or off to save power.

The frame will ship with rechargeable batteries and supports MP3, WMA and MPEG-1/-4 playback.

The Digital Photo Vault will retail for $399.

All new Sungale frames will feature a new Auto Screen-Suiting Photo Storage technology, which automatically resizes images as they're loaded onto a frame's internal memory. The software crops the photo to fit the frame's aspect ratio and downsizes the image to the resolution of the display to maximize space on internal memory.

The company will offer a riff on the traditional photo album with its digital album — an LCD screen bound in leather. The ID700A features a 7-inch, 800 by 480 digital display with a 200:1 contrast ratio. It features 512MB of internal memory, slots for SD and Memory Stick memory cards, and supports JPEG, BMP, PNG and TFF image files.

The album can also playback MP3 and digital video files and uses a rechargeable battery with up to two hours of life. It will retail for $189.

The digital album will also be available with a 3.5-inch frame (the TD350A) with a 320 by 240 display. It will offer all the features of its 7-inch counterpart and will retail for $129. A 5.6-inch album (DPA560AF4) will also be sold.

The company will sell a 7-inch frame — the AD700 — with an 800 by 480 digital display. It features a 500:1 contrast ratio, 256MB of internal memory, memory card slots and USB connectivity.
