Meridian Debuts AC11 Install Accessory
By Staff -- TWICE, January 8, 2009
LAS VEGAS — Meridian Audio will introduce its AC11 installation accessory and announce the extension of its SpeakerLink protocol to the DSP8000 loudspeaker at its Venetian Tower suite 31-103 during International CES.
The AC11, shipping in January with a $995 suggested retail, will allow earlier Meridian processors, disc players and digital loudspeakers to integrate with the company's new SpeakerLink system. SpeakerLink uses RJ-45 Ethernet cable to connect all types of legacy Meridian products that employ DIN and/or BNC Meridian communication ports and S/PDIF digital audio connections using just the single wire. The AC11 can integrate non-Meridian components into a system using their IR out, 12-volt trigger input and RS-232 serial port
"The AC11 makes integrating legacy models seamless," said Bob Stuart, co-founder, chairman and chief technology officer of Meridian Audio Limited, "while the changeover of the DSP8000 signals our unreserved commitment to this superior new technology. Meridian remains at the forefront of innovation, providing solutions for our dealers while delivering, as always, the very best performance."
Meridian also announced it is offering an additional two-year warranty on all new purchases, typically extending the warranty period to five years or more. The offer is good until Feb. 28 and covers all Meridian products purchased from, and registered with, a Meridian authorized dealer.
