Lowepro Parent Acquires Made Products

By Lisa Johnston -- TWICE, 7/7/2008

The parent company of Lowepro announced last month it would be acquiring Made Products.

Made Products created the Camera Armor and Always-On products for digicam protection.

Daymen Photo Marketing, a distributor of photographic and imaging products and the parent company of Lowepro, said acquiring Made Products would "allow Lowepro, Camera Armor and Always-On to expand their assortment of product offerings to the photo specialty and consumer electronics markets."

"We are delighted to join forces with Made Products," said Gilbert Roberts, CEO of Daymen, in a statement. "This agreement lets us grow our portfolio of carrying solutions that are specifically designed for the growing segment of camera users who want functional and fashionable protection for their camera investments."

A spokeswoman for Lowepro told TWICE the company "will be preserving the Made brand and will simply offer their products through their existing distribution channels." She also said no personnel changes would be made.
