Ford Debuts Sync Dealer Kit

By Amy Gilroy -- TWICE, 4/24/2008

Dearborn, Mich. — Ford last week launched a dealer version of its popular voice-activated car audio system, called Sync, for the Lincoln 2008 Lincoln Navigator, and kits for other late model Ford vehicles will follow, a spokesman said.

In addition, the company said it has sold 105,000 vehicles with Sync since last September and remains on track to sell 1 million Sync vehicles by spring 2009. Although the company plans to offer Sync on most of its Ford, Lincoln, Mercury vehicles, Sync originally launched on only 12 models, so the dealer kits will allow Ford dealers to upgrade many late model cars to Sync capability, said a Ford spokesman.

The price of the Sync dealer kit for Ford dealers was not available at press time.
