Meridian Adds Half-HTiB

Austell, Ga. — Meridian Audio began shipping its first DVD receiver, the $8,495-suggested G95 with AM/FM tuner, CD/DVD playback and 5x100-watt (simultaneous) amplifier section. The device uses Meridian and Faroudja technology to up-scale connected analog-video sources to 1080p for output over an HDMI cable to an HD display. The unit also features HD component-video outputs, line-level outputs for all channels, and all-metal black and silver chassis. It's supplied with a tabletop remote controller.

The Cost Of Wisdom

Carson City, Nev. —The $13,000-suggested DCAB-1 (digitally controlled analog brain) available from Wisdom Audio is an active crossover/equalizer with in-room analyzer designed to correct for room acoustics and optimize the performance of Wisdom's Adrenaline and Infinite speaker systems. It is also designed to work with other-brand speakers that are biampable or with a speaker systems consisting of full-range speakers and a subwoofer. The brain, which comes with microphone, can be adjusted via included handheld two-way remote control or RS-232-connected PC.
