Varta Alkaline Battery Shipper Holds Cells, Chargers

White Plains, N.Y. — Varta MicroBattery has launched its Power One custom logo and seasonal theme shipper program. Consumers can purchase any three packages of Varta batteries, which they can mix and match, for $5.99 suggested retail. One 3-pack usually retails for about $5.00, so the consumer basically is getting two packs of batteries for free.
The Varta shipper includes 100 alkaline blister packs, consisting of 54 four-packs of AA cells, 20 four-packs of AAA batteries, 8 two-packs of C batteries, 6 two-packs of D cells and 12 one-packs of 9-volt batteries.
The shipper takes up little space, said Varta, and is about 4 feet tall by 2 feet wide. It takes two minutes to set up, said the company. Seasonal shipper logos include Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, summer vacation and back-to-school, among others.
The shipper also can support two clip strips on both sides, holding Varta's new Power One two-hour nickel metal-hydride charger, complete with 4 AA 2300mAh batteries. The clip strips hold five chargers on each side. At a suggested retail of $15.99, including four batteries, Varta calls the charger “the most competitively priced two-hour unit on the market.
