Gentec Debuts Digital Camera Power Extras

Staff -- TWICE, 9/3/2001

Gentec International is introducing four Optex Campower accessories designed for use with a digital camera.

Two digital camera AC adapters, the DCAC50 and the DCAC65, run a digital camera from any standard AC outlet. These feature a folding plug so the units take up less space in a camera bag and prevent them from scratching equipment. A 10-ft. power cord makes it easy to download images at a computer without the need for an extension cord to reach a wall outlet or power bar, Gentec said. Suggested retail for both products is $49.95.

Gentec's Optex-brand nickel metal hydride (NiMH) rechargeable battery kit, NM17AA4C, is a compact unit that charges either two or four AA or AAA NiMH or nickel cadmium batteries. The kit includes four 1700 mAh NiMH batteries, an AC adapter and a 12-volt car adapter. Charging time is between one and five hours, and suggested retail is $69.95.

Gentec's Optex NM17AA4 provides an additional set of four 1700 mAh batteries at a suggested $29.95 retail.
