HK Introduces iPod Adapter

By Amy Gilroy -- TWICE, 8/8/2005

Harman Kardon recently added its name to the list of companies offering iPod adapters, claiming it's new Drive + Play is the most advanced to date.

The company says its new iPod adapter features a five-way control button that emulates the iPod's controls and enables all of its search functions.

The unit, which won a Best of Show award at the recent 2005 Macworld Conference & Expo comes in three parts — a brain, controller and display — attached by wires. These may be placed anywhere near the driver for improved visibility.

The unit has a back-lit display, a line level output and a built-in wireless FM modulator. It comes with both a 12-volt adapter and a hard wire cable. It is expected to ship in September at a suggested retail price of $199.95.
