Maxent Adds 42W" 1,080p LCD TV

Maxent USA (Hilton 28121) will introduce at International CES four flat-panel TV models highlighted by a value-priced 42W-inch high-definition 1,080p LCD TV.

The flat-panel TV supplier will offer a mix of plasma and LCD TV displays slated for first quarter deliveries. All 42W-inch and larger offerings will feature the company's MotionSCS video processing, preset picture settings, picture-in-picture via HDMI, dual HDMI inputs and ATSC/NTSC/QAM tuning.

A highlighted model is the 42W-inch ML-42ULT51 ($1,399 suggested retail) 1,080p LCD TV featuring a 178-degree viewing angle, 800:1 contrast ratio, and 550 cd/m2 brightness. Inputs include HD component video, RGB D-Sub 15-pin and RS-232 D-Sub nine-pin.

Also slated is a 50W-inch HD plasma set, model MX-50HPT51 ($1,799), featuring 1,366 by 768 resolution, 0.81mm pixel pitch, 15,000:1 contrast ratio and 1,500 cd/m2 brightness. Other inputs include component video, RGB D-Sub 15-pin and RS-232 D-Sub nine-pin.

Maxent will also carry a 42W-inch HD plasma set in the MX-42HPT51 ($1,299). Key features include: 1,366 by 768 resolution, 0.9mm pixel pitch, 10,000:1 contrast ratio and 1,200 cd/m2 brightness. Other inputs include component video, RGB D-Sub 15-pin and RS-232 D-Sub nine-pin.

Also slated is a 32W-inch HD LCD/DVD combo player. Model ML-3251HLT ($1,099) offers 1,366 by 768p HD resolution, a 6.5ms response time, 1,200:1 contrast ratio, 500 cd/m2 brightness and a 176 degree viewing angle.

The slot-loading DVD player will support DVD, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW MP3, CD-R, CD-RW, JPEG and Kodak CD formats.

Inputs include one HDMI/HDCP and component video.

The built-in video processing handles 3:2 and 2:2 pull-down, 4H filtering and IIS intelligent image scaling.
