Nissan To Offer XM NavTraffic

By Amy Gilroy -- TWICE, 2/1/2005

Washington, D.C. - XM Satellite Radio announced that Nissan North America will soon supply XM data services such as XM NavTraffic and in vehicle messaging to its customers.

The announcement follows several weeks after Toyota said it also use XM data services.

An XM spokesman said Nissan did not offer specifics on its in-vehicle messaging plans, but said in general, in vehicle messaging refers to notifications to change oil or other maintenance services.

NavTraffic delivers real time traffic updates that can be displayed as icons on a route map of a navigation system.

Nissan currently offers XM as a dealer installed option on all Nissan and Infinity models.
