Mintek Adds 10-Inch LCD/Portable DVD Player

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Mintek Digital announced the addition of two portable DVD players, including a unit with a 10.2-inch widescreen LCD display.
The new models include the MDP-1010, featuring a 10.2-inch 16:9 LCD display and the MDP-1910, which features a 9-inch 16:9 display with a nearly 180-degree viewing angle.
Of the latter, the company said the new display represents a more than 118 percent improvement over a conventional 7-inch screen. The unit weighs 1.68 pounds. It will ship in the spring at a price to be announced.
The MDP-1010, meanwhile, is set to ship in April at a $499 suggested retail. Features on both models include two built-in speakers, anti-shock system, S-video and two-channel audio inputs. Also included are a headphone jack, Memory Stick reader, USB port, optical output, high-capacity rechargeable lithium battery, multifunction remote control and an automobile power adapter.
All models are compatible with the entire range of disc formats, including: DVD, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, Kodak Picture CD, MP3 and VCD.
