Genius Debuts $49 Headphones

Staff -- TWICE, 4/6/2009

Genius announced noise-canceling headphones at a $49.99 price point last week.

The GHP-04NC headphones, currently available, are based on the “superposition principle,” the company said. They feature an inverted version of the noise signal to cancel outside noise when two identical sound waves combine. “This result is destructive interference, the most effective way to cancel noise from low-frequency sources,” said Genius.

Other features include a 40mm unit driver, padded swivel ear cups, soft headband sponge, leather ear pads, a 6.3mm dual-plug stereo adapter and leather travel bag. They reportedly operate for up to 50 hours on two AAA alkaline batteries.

Genius is a brand division of KYE Systems.
