Lenmar Relocates California Headquarters

Staff -- TWICE, 6/24/2002

Rechargeable batteries and chargers maker Lenmar Enterprises has moved its global headquarters here. The new facility gives the company an additional 40 percent combined office and warehouse space, compared with its previous site in Westlake Village, Calif.

Lenmar reported a 71 percent sales increase for the first six months of its fiscal year, with the aggregate sales increase over the past three years put at 220 percent. The company pinpoints its launch of e-commerce Web site Batterycentral.com as one major reason for the sales jump.

Although Batterycentral.com makes it easier for Lenmar to get products in front of consumers, it is not used to sell directly to consumers. Instead, the site is designed for retailers who want to link their Web sites to Lenmar's database of replacement batteries and power accessories for more than 10,000 CE products.

Lenmar, a 37-year-old company, makes rechargeables and chargers for notebook computers, camcorders, digital cameras, cordless and cellular telephones, and other applications.
