Canon Adds To HD Camcorder Lineup In Sept.

Canon will ship new models in its Vixia line of high-definition, flash-memory and hard-disk-drive camcorders to dealers in September.

The new models will feature the ability to record with a bit rate of 24Mbps, which is the maximum bit rate supported by the AVCHD format.

The HF11, for $1199, sports 32GB worth of internal flash memory with an SDHC card slot and a 12x optical zoom.

The Vixia HG21, for $1,299, offers a 120GB hard disk drive with an SDHC card slot, with the $999 HG20 boasting a 60GB hard disk drive and card slot.

The units will incorporate Canon's HD Video lens, instant AF, optical stabilization and the Digic DVII processor.

Canon will bundle Pixela ImageMixer 3SE video editing and Blu-ray Disc burning software with each model.
