Nikon Names Okamoto CEO

Melville, N.Y. — Yasuyki Okamoto has been named president/CEO of Nikon, Inc.

A 29 year Nikon veteran, Okamoto was recently marketing headquarters GM and operating officer at Nikon Corporation in Japan.

nikon's Yasuyki OkamotoIn his new post, Okamoto will oversee sales, marketing and customer service efforts in North, Central and South American markets.

"Nikon’s operations in the Americas are very important to the success of our company and I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with the team at Nikon Inc.,” Okamoto said in a statement announcing the move.

Okamoto was also president of Nikon France for five years from 1998 to 2003.
