GPX Plans Step-Up Expansion

Staff -- TWICE, 1/8/2002

GPX will expand its selection of DVD-equipped solutions as part of its continuing effort to expand into new product categories and deliver value at step-up price points, not just at promotional price points, said marketing VP Mike Modzelewski.

The solutions include three single-disc DVD-equipped systems with powered sub, up from one SKU. All lack AM/FM tuner and are priced from an everyday $199-$299.

GPX also plans Q3 shipments of its first AM/FM/cassette/DVD/CD boombox with 4-inch color TFT screen at a tentative everyday $299. Also: three TV/DVD combos in 9-, 13-, and 20-inch screen sizes, likely due in Q2. The company previously offered only 5-inch promotional B/W TVs.
