8x8 Edges Toward 100K VoIP Subscribers

Santa Clara, Calif. — VoIP and videophone service provider 8x8 announced that as of Sept. 30 it reached approximately 93,000 Packet8 subscribers, a 27 percent increase from June of this year when it had 73,000 subscribers.

The company released its subscriber numbers when issuing its quarterly financial. The company’s second-quarter revenue rose from $2.5 million in the previous quarter, to $7.1 million

Revenues for the second quarter of fiscal 2006 were $7.1 million, compared with $2.5 million for the same period last fiscal year. The company posted a net loss for the quarter, down $5.6 million, compared with a net loss of $5.1 million, for the previous quarter.
