PALO ALTO, CALIF. — Hewlett-Packard launched two new printers to complement its slate of digital cameras.
The company also introduced its first all-in-one printer that can print directly to CDs and DVDs.
The Photosmart D7260 inkjet printer can produce a 4-inch by 6-inch print in 10 seconds in draft mode and cranks out black and white text at 34 pages per minute.
It sports a 3.5-inch touch screen LCD, HP's Smart Web printing technology for properly framing Web output and uses six individual ink tanks.
The D7260 also offers built-in Ethernet connectivity, memory card slots, one-button red-eye removal, and an automated photo paper tray that engages whenever photos are printed. It ships in August for an estimated $149.
For $179, D7460 builds on the D7260 with built-in wireless networking and compatibility with an optional two-sided printing accessory.
The company also introduced a new all-in-one, the C5280, HP's first model to offer direct to CD/DVD printing, Smart Web technology and an automatic paper sensor for optimizing print quality. Photo prints can be made in 27 seconds. The unit features a 4,800 by 4,800 dpi resolution scanner with 48-bit color. It ships this month for an estimated $149.
