BJ's Teams With HiWired

By Lisa Johnston -- TWICE, 3/10/2008

BJ's Wholesale Club has selected HiWired, a tech support and services provider, to offer consumer PC technology support services to BJ's members. The support is known as TechCare will reportedly be available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

TechCare is designed to give BJ's members a one-stop technical support service for multiple software and hardware products and brands. Using remote-access software that enables access to a member's PC, U.S.-based TechCare specialists "can solve all types of technology problems and needs whenever and wherever members need support," according to a release put out by the company.

TechCare Services are divided into three categories and include: technology setup services (PC setup and file transfer, wireless network setup and peripheral setup); ongoing technology support (Worry Free PC, unlimited premium data backup); and PC tune-up.

Singu Srinivas, president and co-founder of HiWired, said of the partnership: "Our Smart Technology platform is easily customizable — offering a turnkey software and call center solution that had TechCare up and running in less than 45 days. And our screen-sharing technology allows TechCare representatives to provide BJ's members with a wide variety of sophisticated digital support services for their PC's and peripherals safely and remotely.

BJ's members can purchase tech-support services at any of BJ's 177 clubs or by contacting a TechCare specialist at (866) 469-1396 or via online chat at www.techcare123.com.

According to the TechCare Web site, prices range from $45 for a peripheral setup to $155/year for the Worry Free PC service.
