BSH Bows New Cooking, Laundry Lines

Brooklyn, N.Y. — In back-to-back Big Apple events, BSH Home Appliances launched new laundry and cooking products last month for its high-end Bosch and Gaggenau divisions.
For Bosch, BSH chose the new Brooklyn waterfront showroom of its largest distributor, Hadco, to introduce the brand's first freestanding convection ranges and innovative Nexxt laundry platform.
The 30-inch-wide ranges, designed and manufactured domestically at BSH's New Bern, N.C. facility, feature up to nine precisely programmed cooking modes, a 25-inch oven capacity, six rack positions, and Bosch's signature contemporary European design. Other features include the company's exclusive Touch & Turn oven control, a simple-to-use system that combines a touch display and a single dial to provide easy access to upwards of nine different cooking modes, and a removable magnetic control knob on electric SKUs.
Models are available in electric, gas and duel-fuel versions in entry, mid and premium tiers at suggested price points ranging from $1,099 to $1,899, and a color palette that includes black, white, biscuit and stainless. Shipping commenced in November for the electric line, with dual fuel hitting dealers this month and gas going out in February.
The front-loading laundry line, which ships next month from Bern, builds upon last year's Axxis platform to provide high-efficiency cleaning performance and gentle care for garments. The Nexxt washers employ sensors to monitor and maintain water temperature, water level and wash time for 15 different washing programs, including wool, hand wash (for silks, cashmere and lace) and sanitary settings.
Similarly, moisture and temperature sensors in the gas and electric dryers prevent overdrying, and a Synchro feature adjusts the dryer to the wash load, balancing the wash times and extending the life of garments.
Available in white only, and in standard and premium configurations, the washers are priced to retail for $1,199 to $1,479 while the companion dryers will range from $769 to $879.
Meanwhile, BSH used last month's Luxury Kitchen and Bath Collection design exhibition in New York as the backdrop for the debut of Gaggenau's 36-inch five-burner gas cooktop. The model KG 291 boasts a total rating of 60,000 Btu, distributed among two newly designed two-ring, high output burners, a pair of two-ring simmer burners, and one three-ring, high-efficiency 17,000 Btu wok burner positioned in the middle.
The burners are encased in a stainless steel surface with an integrated bead-blasted aluminum control panel with cooking zone and power markings. An automatic quick ignition system ignites the burners immediately with no hold-down time, while gas automatically shuts down if re-ignition fails. Shipping begins next month.
