MERA Registration Is Up

INDIANAPOLIS — The Mobile Enhancement Retailers Association (MERA), said that advanced registrations for the 2007 KnowledgeFest are up by 172 percent over this time last year.
MERA said it expects more than 300 retailers to attend this year's event. At the show, MERA will introduce what it calls a "living document" of questions that retailers should ask themselves about their business. The document will promote "tried and trusted methods of generating business," said executive director Rick Mathies.
"The goal is produce a fun test to take to gauge how business is doing," he said. It will include simple questions such as "When was the last time you replaced the carpet in your store or had a meeting of your employees, or sent out direct-mail piece?"
MERA will also present a new industry forecast and it hopes to begin selling a new point of purchase and scheduling software package that was announced at the recent International CES.
The software enables scheduling of installation appointments at the front counter for multiple bays. It costs $299 per year for members or $359 for nonmembers.
