HP Admits Wrongdoing, Dunn Steps Down As Chairwoman

Palo Alto, Calif. - Hewlett Packard CEO Mark Hurd took over as board chairman Friday after apologizing to reporters for the company’s efforts to discover who on the board of directors was leaking information to the press.
Board chairwoman Patricia Dunn cleared the way for Hurd to take over, a move originally scheduled to take place in January 2007, by resigning.
The company sent emails, containing false information tracing software, to be sent out to journalists to discover where the data was leaking
