Sanus Readies Full-Motion Desk Mount

By Staff -- TWICE, 3/13/2006

While only a prototype at 2006 International CES in Las Vegas in January, Sanus Systems is preparing to release its new desk mount model VMDM1.

Called the VisionMount full-motion desk mount, the VMDM1 is designed for LCD computer monitors and will come fully assembled on its package with mounting hardware and instructions included. It will be available in late spring in silver and black. Suggested retail has not been determined, but it is expected to be in the range of $110 to $130. The company also is working on a sister model VMDM3.

Called the first desk-mount product, the VMDM1 is made of extruded aluminum, and supports up to 30 pounds, while holding 13-inch to 30-inch LCD computer monitors. It features a universal mount that meets VESA 75 and 100 standards, and allows users to “easily” mount most flat-panel computer monitors.

The VMDM1 provides smooth tilt and swivel motion for greater viewing flexibility. A clamp is attached to the edge of a desk or fits through the cable hole on a desktop. An integrated wire management channel keeps cables organized and hidden, and the desk mount's adjustable height allows for positioning of small- to midsized monitors.
