Valhalla, N.Y. — Fujifilm pulled back the curtain on several new retail printing solutions that it will bring to the PMA show, March 3-5.
Fujifilm will ship the ASK 2500 dye-sublimation printer to dealers in the fourth quarter. The printer uses new “Quality Thermal Paper,” which the company says produces the same level of whiteness and gloss as silver halide paper while improving print handling and environmental impact.
The printer features a maximum print speed of 6.8 seconds per 4-inch by 6-inch print, with sizes including 5- by 7-inch and 6- by 9-inch.
The printer can be paired with the new GetPix Order Terminal F7, which can process orders for traditional prints as well as posters, photo cards, and photo books via Fujifilm's GetPix kiosk terminal software (TS). The F7 features an adjustable tilt LCD display and a card reader compatible with all the major formats.
The company will also introduce a pair of new inkjet-based dry minilabs.
The customizable Frontier DL430 features dual roll paper capability that allows printing of multiple sizes or surfaces to occur simultaneously, Fujifilm said.
It can produce 650 4- by 6-inch prints in an hour or 250 8- by 10-inch prints in an hour with two-line backprinting capability on glossy or luster roll- or sheet-fed paper. It can be outfitted with an eight- or seven-order sorter.
The DL430 also incorporates Fujifilm's workflow-management software and Image Intelligence processing technology.
It will be available in the second quarter.
The Frontier DL42SD features double-sided bordless printing via an automatic print unit and sheet cartridge. It incorporates the company's Frontier workflow-management software.
