SED Building Up Networking Biz

By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 11/21/2005

Atlanta — SED International, the 25-year-old CE, PC and mobile products distributor supplying resellers in the United States and Latin America, is expanding its assortment of networking gear to increase its customers' breadth and depth of offerings, the company said.

“We have honed in on the networking segment,” said executive VP Jonathan Elster, “by partnering with Linksys, Netgear, DLink, Trendnet and CNet to help our resellers offer a complete networking solution.”

SED is also boosting its position in GPS and digital imaging through partnerships with such vendors as Lowrance and Pentax, respectively, and is experiencing “tremendous growth” with broad line CE manufacturers including Coby and KXD/Astar, Elster said.

Going forward, SED is continuing to expand and improve its online offerings, and has implemented new Web site en-hancements to make finding detailed product information more efficient.
