Logitech Debuts Air Mouse

By Staff -- TWICE, 7/16/2007

Logitech has unveiled its MX Air Mouse, a rechargeable cordless laser mouse that works on the desk as well as in the air in a similar fashion to a TV remote control.

The mouse employs Freespace motion-control technology developed by Hillcrest Labs, a gesture command system that allows a user to point, select, play and control files with a flick of the wrist. For example, to change the volume, a user presses and holds the volume button and gestures — to the right to increase volume or to the left to decrease it. In place of a traditional scroll wheel, the MX Air mouse features a touch-sensitive scroll panel.

The mouse uses 2.4GHz technology for range of up to 30 feet. A charging cradle is included. It ships in August at a suggested $149.
