Philips Debuts Pronto Neo Low-End Remote

Philips Consumer Electronics is offering the latest addition to its family of Pronto products. Called the Pronto Neo, the unit is an affordable universal remote control said to be easy to use and customize. Suggested retail is $249.99.

Some key features include: touch screen, control of any infrared device, intuitive graphical user interface, 1MB of flash memory, unlimited macro capability with unlimited number of actions per macro, universal data base, customizable via RS232 and PC and clear blue backlight of LCD and buttons.

Philips' Pronto family of universal remotes, introduced three years ago, boasts a single solution for consumers to control home theater and other infrared devices in the home. Mid-price suggested retail is $399, while the high-end model has a suggested $999 retail.
