Peerless Stands Get Color

By John Laposky -- TWICE, 12/18/2006

Peerless Industries has added new color combinations to its flat-panel television stand line to match the cosmetics of the latest TV set finishes.

The stands, designed to hold 32-inch to 50-inch sets, are available in black, high-gloss piano black and silver.

The new models include the following: the FST550P, featuring high-gloss piano black finish and two tinted glass shelves; the FST550P-S, featuring a silver finish with a high-gloss piano black base and two tinted glass shelves; the SGLB01, with a black finish with one clear glass shelf; and the SGLS01, which has a silver finish with one clear glass shelf.

"The new color combinations provide simple TV placement solutions that match the décor and the latest flat-panel color trends when wall or ceiling mounting is not an option," said Lisa Clark, product manager. "The FST and SGL stands feature a unique triangular design that easily fits into a corner or can be positioned right against a wall with plenty of shelf space for A/V equipment."

Peerless' FST and SGL models include symmetric glass shelving that is designed to hold up to 50 pounds per shelf, centralizing A/V components and allowing space for accessory storage. The TV stands include an internal cable management system.

A user installs an LCD or a plasma screen on the stand by attaching the included mounting brackets to the screen and hanging it on the mounting plate like a picture frame. The screen is then secured to the stand by tightening included safety screws to prevent the screen from accidental movement. Multiple viewing angles for ideal screen positioning are possible using features that include vertical screen adjustment and incremental tilt of -2 degrees, 0 degrees and +5 degrees.

The Peerless flat-panel TV stands are available now. The FST550P and FST550P-S retail for $530, and the SGLB01 and SGLS01 retail $430.
