Kodak Launches New Cameras, Printer Dock

By Greg Scoblete -- TWICE, 9/4/2006

Kodak announced the replacement for its wide-angle dual lens digital camera, in addition to several new C-series models and a new, portable printer dock last month.

The new Easyshare V705 replaces the V570, Kodak's first dual lens model and ships this month. It offers 7-megapixel resolution and a 5x optical zoom wide-angle lens. The V705 also features 22 scene modes, three color modes, in-camera panoramic stitching and VGA movie recording at 30 frames per second (fps) with in-camera video editing.

It will build off its predecessor by offering anti-blur technology and retail for a suggested $349.

Select retailers will sell silver versions of the V705 while Kodak will sell black and pink versions exclusively through its online store. For every pink camera sold during the month of October, Kodak will donate $25 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

The company also announced the 8-megapixel C875 with a 5x optical zoom lens, 2.5-inch LCD, VGA/30fps movie recording in the MPEG-4 format and Kodak's Perfect Touch image enhancement technology. A “smart scene” mode enables the camera to automatically determine which scene mode the camera should be set to, based on the environment. The camera ships this month for a suggested $299.

Finally, Kodak announced the 7-mepgaixel C743, which features a 3x optical zoom, 2.4-inch LCD and VGA/30fps video capture for a suggested $199. It will be joined by another entry level model, the 4-megapixel C433 which also offers a 3x optical zoom alongside a 1.8-inch LCD and in-camera cropping for a suggested $99. Both models ship this month.

Joining the new digital cameras is the Easyshare G600 printer dock. The ImageLink-compatible device features a new design, a new paper tray capable of holding 100 prints and an optional battery.

The G600 is shipping for a suggested $149.
