Tweeter Re-Opens Three Connecticut Stores
By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 12/29/2008
Hartford, Conn. — Three Connecticut Tweeter stores are briefly reopening to allow customers to pick up previously purchased merchandise.
The stores, located in Avon, Newington and Manchester, were to each reopen for one day only for a period of two hours starting yesterday and ending tomorrow. The re-openings were arranged by State Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, who intervened in federal bankruptcy court on behalf of Connecticut consumers.
Shoppers’ fire-sale purchases were locked down after Tweeter suddenly shut all of its stores last month prior to its Chapter 7 filing. All remaining inventory is being sent to an Atlanta warehouse where liquidator Apto Solutions is supposed to sort out previously purchased goods for shipment to customers and sell off the rest.
“I’m pleased that my office fought and won this chance for consumers who bought items at Tweeter's going-out-of-business sale to rightfully collect their purchases,” Blumenthal said in a statement. “I urge consumers to get to these stores so they can take home items rightfully and legally theirs. Delay will result in their goods going to Atlanta, delaying and complicating collection, while risking damage, destruction and loss.”
An employee of the attorney general's office was expected to be present during collection hours at each store.
Blumenthal said his office has also intervened on behalf of customers who purchased extended warranties that the issuer is declining to honor.
“Consumers should get what they bought, and I will vigorously and aggressively pursue their claims in court,” he said.
Blumenthal urged consumers who fully or partially paid for items before the bankruptcy sale, but never received them, to file claims with U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware. Consumers can go to www.deb.uscourts.gov/Forms/b10_dec2008.pdf to download a claim form.

1) If the unit is out of warranty call Abt Electronics in Glenview.
2) If the set is still under a Sony warranty (less than a year old) call Sony and they will find an authorized servicer in your area. Abt might fix it for you too....not sure.
3) If it is covered by an AON contract you need to call AON direct. It is covered by AON if you bought the set before 3-1-06.
4) If it is covered by a Service Net contract call SN direct. It is their contract if you bought the set since 3-1-06.

I have emailed the people who are holding the conference that Shultze will be speaking at. If they are honorable, they will either cancel his appearance, or ask him the questions that need to be asked about why he stole customer money and then paid Wells FArgo with it instead of refunding it. Not sure why a reputable place like Wharton would acknowledge this dirt bag theif.
