General Imaging Debuts GE Digicams

Las Vegas — General Imaging revealed details on its previously announced line of GE-branded digital cameras at the Photo Marketing Association’s annual trade show, here, last week.

All of the models will include face tracking, some form of image stabilization, red-eye removal and panoramic stitching. They are due to hit store shelves in May.

The entry level A Series will include two models, the 7-megapixel A730 and 8-megapixel A830, with 2.5-inch LCD screens and powered by a pair of AAs. They feature electronic image stabilization and a maximum ISO of 1,600.

The E Series will focus on “intermediate” level products. The 8-megapixel E850 features a 28mm, 5x optical zoom lens, 3-inch LCD, electronic image stabilization and a maximum ISO of 1,600. The E1030 offers 10-megapixel resolution, a 3x optical zoom lens, 2.7-inch LCD, electronic stabilization and a maximum ISO of 3,200. The 10-megapixel E1040 builds off the E1030 with a longer zoom at 4x and a 3-inch LCD screen.

Finally, the E1240 offers the same features as the E1040 but with a 12-megapixel sensor.

The compact G1 will offer 7-megapixel resolution, a 3x optical zoom, 2.5-inch LCD screen, electronic stabilization and a max ISO of 1,600.

General Imaging will also have an ultra-zoom in the lineup. The 8-megapixel X1 sports a 12x optical zoom lens with optical image stabilization, a 2.5-inch LCD and a max ISO of 1,600.

The firm also introduced a 4-inch by 6-inch photo printer, the P1, capable of producing a print in 75 seconds. It features 4,800 by 1,200 dpi resolution, a 2.5-inch monitor, PictBridge compatibility and a 25-sheet paper tray.

Specific prices were not announced, but the company said retail prices would range from $149 to $399.
