CompUSA Launches Vista-Readiness Program

By Doug Olenick -- TWICE, 1/22/2007

CompUSA has launched its Get Ready For Vista program that will evaluate a consumer or small business computer for free to see if it is Vista ready.

The evaluation is handled by a CompUSA TechPro technician at all of the chain's 229 locations and online at www.compusa.com/vista. The in-store Vista checkup takes about five minutes. The customer can either bring in the actual notebook or PC or just the specifications for the TechPro to review. The online test takes only seconds.

A CompUSA spokesperson said those who visit the store gain the benefit of being able to speak to the TechPro who can fill them in on Vista's highlights.

The program is open ended at this point, the company said.
