THX Certifies Lincoln LS Audio System

LAS VEGAS — THX is announcing that the 2003 Lincoln LS will be the first car audio system that is THX certified.

Specifics on the Lincoln audio system are not yet available, however it will offer 7.1 channel sound. A "concept" version of the THX car audio system was displayed in a Lincoln Blackwood pickup truck at the THX booth at CES here.

THX said it has chosen to certify complete car audio systems vs. individual car audio components because of the many variables in the car environment and in component matching.
