JVC's Everio, HD-ILA Hit The Road

By Staff -- TWICE, 6/19/2006

JVC has kicked off another The Perfect Experience Road Tour, which trains dealer staff and introduces consumers to JVC's latest technologies and key products.

The Road Tour is a 90-day nationwide bus tour that runs from June through September and focuses on JVC's Everio hard-drive camcorder and HD-ILA rear-projection TV lines. A pair of deluxe tour buses, one for the country's eastern half and another for the western half, have been wrapped in bold JVC graphics and outfitted with HD-ILA home theater rooms and Everio Shoot and Edit stations. The Road Tour will travel to retailers in 34 states, making stops in major cities such as Tampa, Fla.; Dallas; San Diego; Chicago; and New York.

Last year, the JVC tour buses traveled 25,000 miles and visited 195 retail stores. Over 2,900 sales associates were trained and 4,800 customers were exposed to the JVC Experience.

“Last year was our first try at bringing training directly to the dealer's doorstep, and it was very effective,” said Karl Bearnarth, marketing senior VP, JVC Company of America. “So with our dealers' encouragement, we're bringing it back this year with an even more aggressive schedule that will allow us to visit even more stores for trainings and consumer events.”

To get the most mileage out of the road tour, the JVC buses will make three to four store visits per day during the week. Retail sales staff will be brought onto the bus for 15-minute hands-on training sessions. On weekends, the buses will set up a consumer pavilion in retailer's parking lots, demonstrating products and supporting the dealers with sales.

In addition to retail store visits, the buses will attend high-profile consumer events, such as the New York City Triathlon on July 16. The JVC Perfect Experience Road Tour begins June 23 in Tampa.
