By Doug Olenick -- TWICE, 6/19/2006

Hewlett Packard will start shipping a new notebook docking station with integrated network attached storage capability later this month.

The 3-1 NAS docking station features a 160GB hard drive bundled with HP backup and recovery software and comes with the company's NAS configuration utility to manage the network file sharing and security. In addition, the docking station has the usual port replication connections and ports needed to connect a keyboard, monitor and other accessories to a notebook. The unit will carry a $399 suggested retail price.

In addition, HP introduced the Compaq NX6325 notebook for the small business market. The configure-to-order model features a variety of AMD processors, including the dual core AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile and the Mobile Sempron chips. The model's pricing starts at $1,049.
