Plantronics Debuts Cell Phone Earbud

Staff -- TWICE, 1/6/2001

SANTA CRUZ, CALIF. -Plantronics is introducing at CES a "stylish, premium" earbud as an accessory for many of the latest chrome-finished phones on the market.

Called the M205, the earbud includes a scratch-resistant chrome-like finish with dark-blue accents and is said to offer a unique feature set not offered with most other earbuds on the market.

The feature set includes Plantronics' Flex-fit design for improved fit, as well as acoustic sound protection, mute, volume control, an answer/end button and an omnidirectional microphone with multiple strain relief at cable flex points for added durability.

Also available are the M205-N1 and M205-N2 variants for use specifically with Nokia phones, without an adapter. Suggested retail price for both the M205-N1 (designed for Nokia 3000 and 8000 series phones) and the M205-N2 (for Nokia's 5100, 6100 and 7100 series) is $29.95.

All M205 models will be available late in January on Plantronics website, followed by availability in stores.
