Mobility Sues Two For Patent Infringement

By Staff -- TWICE, 6/18/2007

Mobility Electronics has filed suit against two companies for patent infringement upon the company's power adapter technology.

Mobility filed suit with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas against Comarco, Lake Forest, Calif., alleging that Comarco's line of universal power adapters for mobile electronic devices, generally sold under the Kensington brand name, infringes upon Mobility's patented iGo intelligent tip architecture design.

Separately, Mobility also filed suit against American Power Conversion (APC), West Kingston, R.I., alleging that APC's line of universal power adapters for mobile devices infringes upon a number of patents "that are the foundation of Mobility's family of remotely programmable power adapters and chargers," according to a company statement.

APC has filed a declaratory judgment action against Mobility with the Massachusetts District Court seeking a declaration that its products do not infringe on the Mobility patents and/or that Mobility's patents are invalid.
