Terk Introduces 4 Dual-Band Cellular Easy-Mount Car Antennas

Staff -- TWICE, 6/25/2001

Terk Technologies has expanded its line of cellular car antennas to include four new units designed to maximize performance of fixed-installation hands-free kits. All feature dual-band PCS and AMPS frequencies for compatibility with most service providers and are quickly and easily mountable, said Terk.

All necessary parts, including 16.5 feet of pre-terminated coaxial cable with an FME connector and a mini-UHF adapter, are included. Each unit, except the CFR-903, is exterior mountable with a through-glass coupling box and cable connections on the interior of the window. Each unit has a three-year limited warranty and is currently shipping.

Terk's CFR-903 is the only inside-mount in the new line. At 4 inches long and .75-inch wide, it is virtually invisible when mounted, according to Terk. Suggested retail is $59.95.

The company's CFR-904 is smaller than a computer mouse, is exterior-glass mounted and requires no removal when entering a car wash. It has an adhesive backing and can be mounted on either the center of the front or rear windshield. Suggested retail is $64.95.

CFR-905 is built with a shorter, tapering design and has a thicker base for added strength. It narrows at the top to reduce wind resistance. The unit, which can be both side- and rear-window mounted, has a suggested $64.95 retail.

Terk's CFR-906 is ideal for a SUV or minivan. Its unique tapered design offers excellent aerodynamic properties, eliminating wind noise as well as reception problems caused by excessive antenna vibration, said the company. It can be simply unscrewed while driving through a car wash. Suggested retail is $64.95.
