Minisystem, PC Connect Without Stringing Wires

By Staff -- TWICE, 2/24/2003

Sony plans March shipments of a minisystem that connects wirelessly to a home PC.

The minisystem, expected to retail at an everyday $300, comes with built-in 900MHz Wireless Audio Transfer (WAT) receiver. An included transmitter plugs into a PC's headphone output to send the PC's compressed music files in analog form over to the minisystem.

The MHC-GSX100W minisystem also features 60-disc megachanger, playback of MP3 CD-R/RW discs, and a Game Sync button that lets gamers mix any audio source with a game's soundtrack.
