Jim Minarik, president/CEO of Clarion Corp. of America (CCA) for the past three years, has resigned effective early December to pursue other business interests. He will be replaced by Ryosei Tonari, an executive managing director of Clarion Company Ltd. in Japan. Tonari most recently served as president of the Clarion Device Company of Tokyo. In his new role at CCA, Tonari will be responsible for OEM and retail sales in the United States and Canada, as well as Clarion's McIntosh subsidiary.Darrell Issa, chairman of CEA and president/CEO of Directed Electronics, elected last week to the U.S House of Representatives for the 48th congressional district in California. Issa, who ran as a Republican, won 61 percent of the vote. CEA believes it is the first time a sitting chairman of a trade association has been elected to Congress.Philip Miller, associate director of the New Jersey Commission on Science & Technology and an ex- Melcor Corp. executive for a dozen years, rejoins Melcor as president. Melcor is the thermal technology products division of Fedders Corp.
