Sony Expands Backstage In-Store Service

San Diego — Four Sony Style stores in the New York/New Jersey area will pick up a recently introduced in-store support program for Vaio PC owners.

Backstage offers one on one service and support for Vaio owners and help for potential customers, the company said. The four Sony Style stores will all have the service by July 5.

The service, dubbed Backstage, is already available at Sony’s San Diego, Atlanta and Scottsdale, Ariz., stores. By the end of 2007 the company expects 15 of its Sony Style stores to have the service.

Backstage offers complimentary product consultations and lessons, and the support staff will help match a customer to the correct Vaio product, the company said.

Backstage also offers a line of paid services including data migration, system performance enhancements, out-of-warranty service evaluations and memory upgrades.
