Iogear Ships 4-Port HDMI Switch

By John Laposky -- TWICE, 8/3/2007

Irvine, Calif – Iogear has expanded its line of HDMI offerings, adding the 4-Port Automatic HDMI Switch.

The new switch uses Iogear’s patented High-Definition Automatic Switch technology to instantly lock and transfer active audio and video content to a connected HD display with a single HDMI cable, allowing users to connect up to four devices and maintain a single universal remote to control a home entertainment system.

It significantly reduces the amount of cables plugged directly into a television set, making it an ideal solution for modern wall-mount set-ups and eliminating manual switching of A/V inputs, Iogear said.

“HDMI technology integration in home media centers shows no sign of slowing down, and the launch of our 4-Port Automatic HDMI Switch is another testament of Iogear’s dedication of simplifying integration of technology in consumers' living rooms,” said Miranda Su, sales and marketing VP. “With compact size and latency-free audio and video switching capabilities, this offering fits in any media center, providing a vivid and robust home entertainment viewing experience,” he added.

The product is HDCP compliant and supports 1080p resolution. LEDs on the front panel display the HDMI device that is currently in use. It has a suggested retail of $189 and is available immediately from major catalog and online resellers, as well as selected retail outlets with Iogear’s standard three-year warranty.
