Home Theater Specialists Adds Two Members
By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 2/21/2005
Chester Springs, Pa. — Home Theater Specialists of America (HTSA) has added two more retailers to its roster, bringing total membership to 52 dealers.
The newest additions to the A/V specialty buying group are Barney Miller's of Lexington, Ky., and Paragon Technologies Group in Basalt, Colo.
The former began as an auto parts business in 1922 and evolved into a mobile radio dealer, later adding home audio and video. Today, the company, led by third-generation president Barney Miller III, specializes in home theater, video editing and duplicating, and other specialty products and services.
Paragon was founded in 1996 by integrator David Raife to serve the Aspen market with the finest available technology and equipment for home theaters, multimedia rooms, distributed A/V and whole-home automation. Paragon works with architects and designers to tastefully integrate the systems and enhance the beauty of clients' homes.
“The contrast of Barney Miller and Paragon Technologies underlies the complexity of the market,” said HTSA's executive director Richard Glikes, “and the fact that different business models can prosper through excellence in customer service and sales of superior solution-oriented products.”
