Workman Expects ‘Very Good’ 2006 For PRO Group

By Steve Smith -- TWICE, 4/19/2006

Scottsdale, Ariz. – Dave Workman, executive director of the PRO Group, greeted the organization’s members and suppliers attending their first Spring Meeting under his leadership.

During dinner remarks Tuesday evening to the 15 members and 29 suppliers in attendance at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale at Gainey Ranch, Workman said he was “proud and happy” to work for the organization that generates “well above” $2 billion in annual sales. He predicted and that the group should have a “very good 2006.”

In Workman’s first 60 days at the helm the group has been working with vendor partners to sharpen their strategies. Most importantly, PRO must “act like a group and think like a group” and develop “actions and strategies behind these key phrases.”

He added, “The essence of PRO is the strength of the members of the group,” and he should know since Workman, as key executive with Ultimate Electronics, a founding PRO retailer, has been involved with the organization for most of its life.

Workman claimed that PRO is the “largest CE-focused buying group” and that its “future is bright.”

George Manlove, president of Vann’s and PRO’s chairman, welcomed Workman at his first meeting saying that he was selected based on his “integrity, experience, vision, people skills” and that Workman is “well-respected in the industry.”
