DBL's Sales Grow 30% On Expanded Offerings, Improved Operations

By Staff -- TWICE, 1/16/2006

DBL Distributing, a leading national distributor of consumer electronic products and related accessories to independent and online retailers and retailers in the United States, announced that revenues for 2005 increased 30 percent over 2004.

David Lorsch, DBL's president/CEO, attributed the gains to robust customer demand among independent retailers and continued growth in online shopping, coupled with DBL's best in class service levels, improved operations and expanded vendor roster, which is now in excess of 340 brand names.

Indeed, throughout 2005, DBL signed new distribution agreements with Philips, Daewoo, JVC, Protron, Microsmith, Marsh Sound Design, Astar Electronics, EasyMount, HiFi Works and Christie, significantly expanding the company's offerings in the rapidly growing home theater and custom installation categories. Other new distribution partnerships were forged with Altec Lansing, Pacific Design and Dream Gear, adding to an already strong line of iPod accessories, while additional new manufacturers joining DBL's roster in 2005 included Navman, Directed, Mobile TV, Etymotic Research, GN Netcom, Spectare, BlackBerry, Casio, American Recorder and Fellowes. DBL said the expansion makes it one of the few national distributors featuring virtually any hardware or accessory item needed to complete profitable home theater and custom install projects.

Separately, DBL announced several executive promotions. Among the changes:

  • Tim Butler, formerly executive VP/chief financial officer, was promoted to executive VP/COO;

  • Bob Wikes, formerly marketing VP, was promoted to merchandising and marketing senior VP;

  • Dan Halaburda, formerly director of fulfillment services business development, was promoted to national accounts VP; and

  • Michael Slover, formerly national sales manager of fulfillment services, was promoted to director of fulfillment services.
