Belkin Links iPod To Home Theater

By TWICE Staff -- TWICE, 7/25/2005

A device that allows consumers to play songs from their iPod through a home theater via Bluetooth technology is available from Belkin. Called the TuneStage for iPod, model F8Z901 has a transmitter connected to an iPod and a receiver hooked up via RCA or 3.5mm to a user's system.

Belkin said TuneStage offers “reliable, high-quality sound without the clutter of cables,” and fits all sizes of iPod devices with a dock connector.

Using advanced Bluetooth v1.2 technology, the unit can transmit from up to 33 feet away from a stereo, free of the barriers that limit traditional remotes, such as walls, ceilings and windows.

Wirelessly connected through TuneStage, an iPod becomes the ultimate remote, giving users “absolute control” of their music, said Belkin. Since the unit draws power directly from the iPod, it needs no batteries or extra cables.

Shipping was scheduled for late July at $179.99 suggested retail.
