Monster Awards Honor Retail Partners

by John Laposky -- TWICE, 1/28/2008

P.C. Richard & Son, the regional New York specialty chain, took the top honor, the Gold Award, at the Monster Cable Awards presentations at the Paris Hotel during International CES.

Before an estimated crowd of 4,000 CE professionals, Monster honored more than 80 of its most-productive national and international retailers and retail salespeople, based on achievements in sales growth of Monster products, percentage of Monster's total sales and dollars-per-store sales.

According to a Monster statement, "To win, retailers must also have done something above and beyond Monster's ordinary sales processes. The nominees in these categories reflect the highest standards of business processes in today's retail environment. Winners were painstakingly chosen from among the selected nominees, with the final decision coming down to interviews with Monster reps, sales managers and trainers."

Winners received a gigantic Monster Gold Connector, celebrating the Most Monsterous Partnership.

The top-level honorees, given "Most Monsterous" awards, were, as follows:

  • Most Monsterous Retail Salesperson: Jason D. Skolnick, Sixth Avenue Electronics City, Springfield, N.J.

  • Most Monsterous Car Audio/Video Retailer: Lake Town Speed and Sound, Draper, Utah;

  • Most Monsterous Domestic Distributor: D&H Distributing Co., Harrisburg, Pa.

  • Most Monsterous E-Commerce Retailer: Wild West Electronics, Edmond, Okla.

  • Most Monsterous CI Integrator: Baumeister Audio Video, Niles, Ill.
