Archos, Dish Team Again On DVR Transfers

Denver –– A Dish Network plug-in for the Archos 705 Wi-Fi and 605 Wi-Fi portable media players (PMPs) enables high-speed USB 2.0 transfers of programs from a pair of Dish DVRs to the PMPs for on-the-go viewing.

“A two-hour movie can be transferred in just a few minutes,” said Henri Crohas, Archos founder and CEO.

The plug-in is offered exclusively from www.archos.com to Dish subscribers who have a VIP722 or VIP622 high-definition receiver. Archos PMPs are available at many retail outlets, and in January, the 605 and 705 models will also be available through Dish dealers.

High-speed content transfer from Dish receivers will be demonstrated at the EchoStar booth at International CES.

EchoStar partnered with Archos in 2005 as the primary PMP supplier in the satellite-TV company’s portable device strategy.
