Altec Lansing Enters Headphone Market

BEVERLY HILLS, CALIF. — Personal computer audio products developer Altec Lansing Technologies is entering the headphone and headset markets with a new line of products designed for personal entertainment and voice-entry applications.

The headphones and headsets — which draw upon Altec Lansing's compact audio designs and audio technology to provide crisp, high-quality sound — are ideal for use in home and office.

The company said expansion into voice entry and portable audio is a natural extension of its core business.

Designed for people on the go, the headphones are perfect for a variety of portable audio devices, including MP3, CD and DVD players. Three headphone designs are made for use with portable music players, video game systems and multimedia PCs.

The AHP2 stereo ear phones feature a comfortable in-ear design and deliver a range of sound from a pair of neodymium drivers. A retractable carrying case provides convenient storage and simple portability. Suggested retail is $9.99.

The AHP5 is a stylish wrap-around model that offers a volume control for level adjustments located on the cord. Suggested retail is $14.95.

The AHP10, at a suggested $19.95 retail, boasts a set of 32mm drivers for full-frequency response and a double-adjustment headband and leatherette ear pads for a comfortable fit. It also has a volume control on the cord.

The three headset models are ideal for voice command applications, voice recognition and Internet telephony. All three feature noise canceling and amplified microphones to ensure high-quality voice capture.

The AHS15 is a monaural headset that features an adjustable headband and a swivel microphone arm for comfortable positioning. It has a volume control on the cord and a suggested $19.95 retail.

The AHS20 is a stereo headset that features a volume and microphone mute control located on the cord.

A headband adjustable on both sides and swivel microphone aid in comfort. Suggested retail is $24.95.

The AHS30 is a stereo headset that features a volume and microphone control located on the cord. This control offers high, low and mute settings. Suggested retail is $29.95.
